Interpretive Guide

Do you and your clients prefer an engaging tour experience versus merely listening as an ordinary guide recites memorized facts and figures? As an Interpretive Guide, Tourism Champion promises an engaging tour where every guest will learn & remember more. Gain a greater appreciation for history, geology, plants, and animals in the places you or your clients visit. You and your clients will have fun, leaving with memories and new knowledge remembered long after the tour, and will be eager to share with friends and family.

During your tour, we’ll talk about what interests you. Enjoy learning about new things. We are committed to commentary that is thoroughly researched and accurate, and if we don’t know the answer to a question, we’ll do the research to find it.

Discover the world of nature in simple, unscientific terms. Compare how the formation of rocks is like buttery, chocolatey fudge, or why when an elk grows antlers, it gets grumpy. We strive to make all that ‘science stuff’ fun, uncomplicated, and memorable.

Contact us about Half & Full Day tours featuring scenic drives, destination adventures, historic sites, museums, hikes and other outdoor activities.

Visiting with a friend, for business, or family vacation, and doing your own driving? Tourism Champion can design a customized, self-guided itinerary featuring a suggested route and recommended schedule that suits your interests – whether it’s your first visit, or fifth.

Steve has been working as a Tour Guide since he was 18, fresh out of high school before heading off to college. Little did he know that three summers of driving horse-drawn carriage tours on Michigan’s Mackinac Island (pronounced Mack-in-Naw), and a summer driving ‘dune scooters’ on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes along Michigan’s West Coast would set the stage for the fun, fulfilling and rewarding work as an interpretive tour guide more than two decades later! Volunteering as a Journey Guide at Denver’s then-new aquarium in the fall of 1999, now the Downtown Aquarium, Steve was drawn back to what he was wired for. He earned the Certified Tour Guide credential from the International Guide Academy the following spring.

Tour guides join travelers for a few hours, a day, or perhaps more while they are getting acquainted with a new locale, touring one of those destinations on their ‘bucket list’, a museum, historic site, park or city, individually, or in small and large groups. Their unique, in-depth knowledge helps immerse guests wishing to experience a new place, or learn more about a familiar one. Next time you visit somewhere new, contact us about showing you around!

Realtors use Tourism Champion to help home buyers chose the perfect neighborhood, or to quickly feel like a local in their new home.

Corporations relocating executive staff, or assigning staff to temporary duty in locales far from their home, benefit from having the Tourism Champion help their employees feel at home more quickly, or simply avoid the boredom of being in an unfamiliar location for weeks or month on end. They’re worth your investment…and so is the investment made with Tourism Champion to help your valued employees adapt, assimilate and get comfortable where they have been placed in weeks or months, versus months or years.
